If you didn\'t know it yet...

Seagate承認左所有(包括)08年12月以前生產o既Barracuda 7200.11, ES.2同Maxtor DM22 HDD都受firmware bug影響.

而唔係之前已知o既1TB同1.5TB型號咁簡單, 所有受影響型號如下:

I have 5 ES.2 500GB drives running and already emailed their tech support for firmware update...
But it looks like the updates aren\'t available yet...

CS: The 7200.11 new firmware
CS: I have two drives that need updating to avoid the boot-of-death failure
CS: I\'ve already had to RMA a third drive that has failed and I want to avoid having to do it again
CS: My drives are both ST31000340AS running SD15, serials are <deleted>

Jason H.: Based on your serials, there will be an update released in the next few days. If you would I would check back Tuesday.

CS: But you can confirm both these drives are "at risk" and need the update?
Jason H.: Not that they are at risk, but there will be a firmware update released for your drives.
CS: But they will need the update yes? As I said I&#92;&#39;ve already had another one of these drives fail in this manner.
Jason H.: I dont know that they need an update, just that there will be a newer revision released and it is always good to get the latest and greatest if available.
CS: Uhh.... okay, I guess I&#92;&#39;ll have to try back next week and hope I don&#92;&#39;t lose another drive before that.

o shit.... using ST3160813AS as my system drive for my linux server....



can&#92;&#39;t do anything till easter... hopefully it won&#92;&#39;t break down

經此一役, 以後組RAID5唔通要用4隻唔同牌子HDD
