I was using WZR-HP-G300NH with HGCbroadband,
but it always cut suddenly that I have to reset both the router and modem to make it recover.
So I tried to flash my router to dd-wrt to see if it helps a bit.
But it turns out that with the connection to internet succeed, the speed is extremely slow.
For example, if I download a file of 12MB,
it starts with 0kB/s and after some 10~20 sec it starts loading very fast and complete it with 500kb/s.
It looks very unusual as if I load a page during the download, the original download pause and I have to wait another 10~20s before it continues.

Now return to stock..........going to buy a router to replace this stuff and put this back to home.....
Any suggesting for a router that works 100% stable with HGC PPPoE?
As cheap as possible!

你試下 TP Link 1043，以前我用 HGC 10M + 941 幾穩定
但之後轉左HKBN 後 upgrade 上 1043

I see,
but I prefer a even cheaper option as this router just serves a very simple function, maybe only browsing.
Is D-Link DIR-600 a choice?

I do worry about the compatibility with HGC PPPoE.
Do you know if D-Links or TP-Links are more stable?

我好幾年前用過DI624S 夾 HGC 10M，都幾穩定
但後來D model無試過

Not going to sell it.
I will use it at home if I have got another router to put in my dorm.

Finally bought D-Link DIR-600 Rev B2 for $190
after searching it for more than 20 shops..........

And it is now working as it should.
Update : F___, it breaks down within a day.
Update2 : Luckily recovered by hard reset, seems the "latest" official firmware killed it.
Update3 : No, it still sucks, after switching it off for a while, won't on anymore........

Did not buy TP-Link as it is using Atheros, the same brand as Buffalo.
Better to try D-Link for its Ralink.

Using WZR-HP-G300NH at home on BB100 works flawlessly.......

Replaced a new router of same model, working freaky well now.
On and off tests passed.

Max wireless DL speed via BT at 3.6MB/s running quite stably with dd-wrt.
Stock firmware can deliver higher performance comparing to dd-wrt.

Absolutely
Occasionally it cannot be switched on, wireless light only lit once, cannot get into the admin page.
The replaced router was also flashed from 2.03 to 2.05 and now stuck to dd-wrt, all tests passed, it boots up normally every time.

Resetting the modern is the only solution so far.
And I cannot test if direct connection from modem to computer in its failure period allows connection,
if not, I think I have a reason to make them replace it...........
