尋晚走去買左個NAS仔玩下
想問下點 set 果d IP address?

1. 最簡單係咪睇 ipconfig/all 抄晒 d DNS, subnet mask 同 Default Gateway 落去?
2. IP 就set 個同 router DHCP range 以外既?

Port forwarding 又點整...我見 router 度同個 NAS 入邊既好唔同 - 要逐個server有唔同port

我都有nas,開左個ftp益吹部友..

其實我都係也也烏, ip個d我係用 no-ip.com,佢會自動偵測我屋企個ip位置,唔洗我搞. 我只需要入去nas設定set返晒no-ip acc入去,搞掂!!

port係最難明的東西, 我係直接入去router去開port位,例如你個ftp用21號port位, 咪直接去router開囉,
又例如nas介面用5000號port位,都係一樣去router開返5000.

其實可以o係router到assign左個ip俾nas...nas只要set auto from dhcp就得..
當然port forward係要一個個咁set...

如果佢個router唔on list就要手動，我本來隻水牛都唔on list，上4.0就可以nas set

其實我個目標係好似你咁...set左一次就唔洗下下係部腦入面先搞到
e.g. download 野, copy/delete d file 等等

Syn 好似有2個 iOS app 可以 - DS Download 同 DS File
我最基本目標係入到呢2個app就得 -> 而家佢唔比我 login, 要係同一個 intranet 先比

以我所知, set完 port forwarding後, 仲要 enable埋 WebDAV 同 Filestation (即係 HTTP)

very simple, for the sake of simplification:
- each computer in your network is identified by its own IP (assigned by router)
- each computer has "ports" that lets outside connections interact with your computer for specific purposes, these ports are numbered
- your router functions as a "gate" and blocks all special connections unless you tell the router specifically to let certain things through
- outsiders only know your external IP (the one assigned by ISP), and the port that they want to use to connect to your computers
- so you tell the router to forward the connection to different computers when different ports are requested

here is a sample network:
modem -> router -> computer 1 (192.168.0.2)
-> computer 2 (192.168.0.3)

if you want to run a ftp server on computer 2, first you need to set up the right software on it, then set it to "listen" to port 21 for incoming connections (like waiting for someone to knock your door).

then you tell your friends your external IP and the port number you are using, which is 21 for most standard ftp servers

however the router is still blocking this, therefore no one can get through the gate to knock the door
so you tell the router "if a connection is requesting to connect to port 21, then forward it to 192.168.0.3"

in your screenshot, here is how you fill in:

"name" - can be anything you want
"public port" / "private port" - usually i use the same number.
"IP address" - the internal IP of the target computer

Thanks for the explanation

One more thing I don;t get...it seems that these IP (even with ports) are very similar between each other
e.g. your example 192.168.0.3

I am sure a lot of people are using that (coz its between 1-255 right?)

So if you type in 192.168.0.3:21

Wouldn't there be a million people using this as their ftp IP/port?

呢個internal IP黎,
簡單D講就係,要係physically within 你個lan (network)先可以用ftp://192.168.0.3:21 入個NAS
街外人唔得的,所以要係router做port-forward
當人地打你網址e.g. ftp://cainester.com:21,
咁router就會識得人地入你port 21就forward去你部NAS度

----街外客,入ftp with port 21---->router----forward,port 21---->NAS (port 21)

我估有兩個情況，router唔support同一network打external ip，我隻水牛都唔得，所以用電話browser試(3g)

另一個情況，我用synology都唔得

我係用no-ip

對於我呢d一般user，synology既nas介面真係user friendly，d function仲好夠用
