Conclusion
If you are expecting RX580 to be something new, RX580 is not VEGA. This is just a "respin" of RX480 with improved base clock and a little more headroom for overclocking
(Stock 1.320 GHz , however Turbo to 1.4GHz depends on different AIB design)
RX580 is just a re-branded RX480, the memory clock had been pushed to 2GHz (aka 8GHz).
During the overclocking test I was barely able to push the GPU clock to 1485MHz to complete TimeSpy once, but it crashed when I attempt to screencap.
For unknown reason, the memory (Samsung?) was not overclocking friendly, any clock higher than 2010 MHz will crash.
The power efficiency have not improved, the higher clock consumes more power.
However on performance part, RX580 managed to match GTX1060 6GB (non- 9GHz GDDR5 version) closer. RX580 will be more competitive against GTX1060 for now, however when nVIDIA release GTX1060 with 9GHz memory chip, the performance gap will be pulled away again....
Let's hope AMD VEGA will be more competitive against GTX1070 in the coming month....
