strongly agree, I am a user of this config and my notebook runs perfectly fine with that.
You will see an upgrade in all aspects.

oh, I am sorry about this claim as I used to think that restoring files from a dead SSD is easier, but it seems not.

From this article the restoration of data is more complicated for SSD.
While SSD for notebook is undoubtedly a better solution due to the shock resistant, particularly for those Business machines that are always shifted right away.

if you have got only 2GB of ram, I do think getting one more strip of 2GB will boost your computer's performance, normally 4GB will fit all daily applications, you don't need a meaningless of 8GB ram..........so that you can spend 1200 for an SSD and the ram
