The point is the upcoming Bulldozer is going to use a 5-year-old socket.....that way when i upgrade, I will need a new board.
I do agree a change is necessary but they should do it earlier for bulldozer, instead of leaving
a new architecture CPU on a old socket.
Maybe I am a bit picky but it does prohibit me from buying the AM3+ bulldozer.

The problem is AMD should have change to LGA socket with Bulldozer
I am fine if Bulldozer "deliever" the performance and I am willing to change my MB for it

But instead of "new LGA" socket
AMD choose "SOCKET AM3" from the beginning , giving end-user able to use AM3 CPU on a Bulldozer board
Maybe AMD afraid  Bulldozer don't have enough "performance" ?

It just makes it worthless to invest on an expensive main board with AM3+ socket and telling that the first bulldozer is a transitional product.

But AMD improved the memory overclocking capacity with 9-series chipset
