Tahiti to be the mainstay until the end of year doesn't mean there is no new chips from CI at all. Considering that AMD embraces both professional and gaming graphics as its future growth driver, and the fact that 20nm will not arrive to the mainstream until 15, it is quite possible of them to improve their relative position with new chips for the next 12-18 months. Especially the underbuilt Pitcairn and overbuilt Tahiti as opposed to their competitors.
Combined with the strong marketing strategy they are executing now, this will be a strong year to AMD in the GPU market.

Think a Bonaire x2 with perfect scaling (~1.9x). This will definitely improve AMD's weak position in the 299+ market currently by pulling down 670 and 680.
