AM3+ should have faded out in 2012 and have been replaced by a shared infrastructure with APU. But as long as they are not going to EOL Vishera, AM3+ will stand still in the market. So the real question is not about AM3+ or not, but whether there is an SR/XV CPU to succeed Vishera.
It seems there isn't any if we look at the Opteron roadmap. *rumor looper removed*
