[業界消息] Apple stop using Imagination Tech's graphic...

One self-proclaimed ex-ImgTec employee claims on Ars that Apple is building a parallel compute core with less focusing on graphics, though technically graphics has become more and more "compute" in desktops nowadays. So it isn't a surprise.

see GCN, which is a bad example because of zero focus due to lack of R&D, not its advancements in compute features.

Apple is in a advantageous position to actually push the industry forward with badass heterogeneous computing. Unlike AMD, it controls two substantial operating systems, their software ecosystems and more importantly their development toolchains.

Yes, it is having four now. You can say tvOS is a glorified iOS for TV, and it is true. But there are a lot of subtle differences in UI and UX designs, and hence the APIs. The gap between macOS and iOS is huge — input method being the main difference.

T1? That is just a peripheral connecting over USB 2.0. At best you have Metal compute (= compute shader).

Mac Pro is coming "soon". For sure macOS is dying to be replaced with iOS without even multi-window.
