Random 4KB Read/Write (up to)
38K IOPS / 14K ...

Fast enough is good, reliability comes first.
You can hardly feel any differences in daily operation between Intel 320 and Vertex 3.

PS : Using Intel 320 160GB.
Personally if I am to choose again, maybe M4 is a better deal.
