These features are introduced in Windows 7 and in Windows Server 2008 R2. win 7 to win xp, definitely can, coz I always use

win xp to win 7...
1. you need to make sure your win 7 use appropriate firewall (KAV or KIS can't... or need advanced settings), I use win 7 internal, it's ok
2. your win xp need sp3 + install RDC 7.0 which i mentioned above

I'm not sure. I think in router, it's very easy, just add port forward to your PC ip address (if it's static)

you're win 7 connect to xp
or
xp connect to win 7?

for both cases, i can connect without any problem
