check the projector model and search

most of the new (1-2 years) japanese projector
should have lan port (then need the university has also installed a lan port to it)
can use the lan port to share content (upload ppt/xls/etc etc to projector)
older model need a pcmcia lan card from the vendor (e.g. epson need epson pcmcia card/nec need nec pcmcia card)
also can share content but most may not buy the card

clone the disk to external hard-disk or
upgrade to SSD and keep the original hard-disk at safe place
