We have been hearing about this silent monster that AMD has with 16C/32T of CPU performance, something that has been referred to as ThreadRipper and is launching in June. Now we're hearing that AMD will have 10/12/14/16 core versions, meaning we'll have CPUs with 10C/20T, 12C/24T, 14C/28T, and 16C/32T.

Now we're hearing that AMD will have 10/12/14/16 core versions, meaning we'll have CPUs with 10C/20T, 12C/24T, 14C/28T, and 16C/32T.   ADVERTISING inRead invented by Teads   ThreadRipper will be compatible with a modified version of AMD's current SP3 socket, something that's codenamed SP3r2, and was designed for AMD's upcoming Naples server platform. AMD's new Whitehaven platform will provide quad-channel DDR4 with 44 PCIe lanes for multi-GPU users, enthusiasts and workstation users.   Better yet, we know the names of AMD's new ThreadRipper processors with a rather large purported list of Ryzen 9 processors.

ThreadRipper 16C/32T: Ryzen 9 1998X/1998
The new HEDT chips will be led by the flagship Ryzen 9 1998X and Ryzen 9 1998, offering 16C/32T at 3.5GHz base and 3.9GHz boost CPU clocks, while coming in with a 155W TDP - 5W less than Intel's next-gen Core i7-7920X which is a 12C/24T part. The Ryzen 9 1998 on the other hand will retain the 16C/32T power, but at 3.2/3.6GHz for base/boost clocks, respectively - on the same 155W TDP.

ThreadRipper 14C/28T: Ryzen 9 1977X/1977
AMD's purported 14C/28T processors will arrive as the Ryzen 9 1977X with a base 3.5GHz clock and boost of 4.1GHz on a 155W TDP. The smaller Ryzen 9 1977 will hit 3.2GHz base and 3.7GHz boost, on a lower 140W TDP.

ThreadRipper 12C/24T: Ryzen 9 1976X/1956X/1956
The mid-range ThreadRipper will still have 12C/24T and will include 3 SKUs in total, starting with the Ryzen 9 1976X with base and boost clocks of 3.6GHz and 4.1GHz, respectively, on a 140W TDP. The Ryyzen 9 1956X will have the same 12C/24T, but at 3.2GHz and 3.8GHz for base/boost, at 125W. The smaller Ryzen 9 1956 is a 125W part at 3GHz and 3.7GHz on base/boost.

ThreadRipper 10C/20T: Ryzen 9 1955X/1955
AMD will have its lowest ThreadRipper SKUs as 10C/20T parts with the Ryzen 9 1955X offering 3.6GHz and 4.0GHs base/boost CPU clocks, while the Ryzen 9 1955 will rock 3.1/3.7GHz CPU clocks.
