I am sure there are other architectures out there that is more efficient then x86. But until the limit of x86 is reached, I can\'t see a revolutionary change in the CPU architecture. I think the reason behind this is because people generally have this inertia to change when something is working and progressing steadily, big changes like changing the whole architecture of CPU will need a massive "push" to overcome this inertia.
