Thought the old ones were broken, the fact was then.....the cable was loosened. Anyway, the old drives started to show reallocated sectors for a while, and are definitely dying (when using more than 500GB there will be error), it's a good time to replace them I suppose.

For the new drives, transferring video from USB3 Seagate harddisk ---> RAID 1 of new drives is as fast as 180MB/s.

Not constantly, probably only for data like zip files or videos;
other smaller files are much slower.

what kind of hard disk? 180MB/s by USB 3.0

With more observation, that speed is not true; it's just a burst of some certain transfer.
Normally the speed sustain at 130-150MB/s

The USB 3 harddisk is actually a Startech.com enclosure with a Seagate 3TB internal hard drive.
