SP is definitely a nicely built device. My friend got one SP2 to replace his Nexus 7 for digital drawing & notes taking, and have positive feedback so far. I've played it once and kickstand is more reliable and elegant as compared to those cover-based stands (iPad Smart Cover... yuk). but the screen size is a hurt (to me), and I love papers more for jotting notes, particularly doing maths, mind-mapping or brainstorming. The observable delay between the movement and the screen's response is annoying. It feels just like typing on a virtual keyboard versus mechanical keyboard - just the feel.
But if it is larger, maybe it won't be a nice tablet anymore. So... trade-off of a convertible. I'm devoted to my iPad, so... I look forward to a Surface Book, be it 13" or 15", with a nice keyboard.
